  ✌

Rishikesh is a unique destination where spirituality meets adventure. On one hand, the divine Ganga Aarti in the evening will captivate your soul, while on the other, White Water River Rafting will get your adrenaline pumping.

 How to Reach (Transport)

  • By Bus: Direct buses are available from Delhi’s Kashmiri Gate (ISBT) at all times. Ordinary bus fares range from ₹300-400, while AC/Volvo buses cost between ₹700-900.

  • By Train: You can take a train to Haridwar or the 'Yog Nagri Rishikesh' railway station. From Haridwar, you can reach Rishikesh via shared auto or bus for just ₹50-100.

  • By Air: The nearest airport is 'Jolly Grant' (Dehradun), located about 20 km

. Where to Stay? (Budget Accommodation)

For a budget trip, choose Homestays, Ashrams, or Hostels instead of expensive hotels:

  • Ashrams: Places like Geeta Bhawan or Parmarth Niketan offer rooms for ₹300-500 per night.

  • Hostels: Popular chains like 'Zostel' or 'Blue Sheep' offer dorm beds for ₹500-700, where you can also meet travelers from all over the world.

Where to Eat (Local Food & Cafes)

Rishikesh is famous for its vibrant cafe culture.

  • Chotiwala: Famous for traditional Indian thalis and a classic local vibe.

  • Freedom Cafe or Little Buddha Cafe: These cafes offer stunning views of the Ganges and serve delicious food at reasonable prices.

 Important Travel Tips

  • Rishikesh is a holy city; therefore, alcohol and non-vegetarian food are strictly prohibited.

  • While bathing in the Ganges, be careful of the strong currents; always use the safety chains provided at the ghats.

  • Keep an eye on your belongings (especially glasses and bags) as monkeys in the area can be quite mischievous.
